Current researches
My researches address the following issues :
1. To understand at which time and space scales and how spatial arrangements of habitats (landscapes/ecoscapes) determine, directly or indirectly, the population dynamic patterns of small mammals (rodents, etc.) and their predators (small carnivores, etc.)
2. To understand how the interactions between landscape/ecoscape and small mammal communities regulate transfer/transmission of environment contaminants (pathogenic organisms, chemicals)
3. To understand how landscape can impact transmission of zoonotic diseases to humans
They are undertaken in the framework of landscape ecology concepts and the multi-scale analysis of anthropogenic disturbance of regional ecosystems (land use changes, deforestation/reforestation, impact of farming practices, etc.). Although rooted in basic sciences regarding their objectives, they are carried out in relation with applied issues and professional organizations (farmers, game and conservation managers, etc.) and most often grounded on multidisciplinary approaches (small mammal pest control, assessment of landscape change impacts, ecology of infectious diseases, eco-toxicology at population/community level, etc.)
