Recruiting for a post-doc or staff member for a WASH field trial in Mozambique

Emory University (USA) is recruiting for a position to assist with running an NIH-funded field trial to assess the impacts of a large water supply improvement project in Mozambique. We will test if and how improvements in water supply affect enteric pathogen infection, associated acute and chronic gastrointestinal-related conditions (including measures of the infant gut microbiome, environmental enteric dysfunction, and acute diarrhea), and child growth and development. We are looking for an independent researcher with extensive field experience who will coordinate field efforts in Mozambique and contribute intellectually to the project, with extended periods of travel to Mozambique. Laboratory experience and Portuguese language desired.

Karen Levy and Matthew Freeman in the Department of Environmental Health at Emory University will be the direct supervisors of the person hired in this role. The position can be hired either as a staff research project manager or as a post-doctoral fellow. The person hired for this position will become a fellow at the Center for Global Safe WASH at Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) at Emory University. RSPH is one of the nation’s leading schools of public health, and has the benefit of being located directly adjacent to the U.S. CDC.

We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible ; however the start date is negotiable.
