Research specialty

My research specialty aims to develop the detection and the study of the resistance forms of intestinal parasites (protozoa and helminths) in ancient soils by using methods from coprology, immunology and molecular biology.
This discipline called paleoparasitology, allows to study the history and evolution of parasitic diseases over time: appearance, disappearance and migration. It aims to understand the biodiversity of parasites in different prehistoric and historic periods, as well as the relative importance of parasites in each era. It also aims to study the evolution of the host/parasite relationship, changes in parasite life cycles and inter-host transfers, since the first contact between man and animal.
