Many disciplinary fields can be based on the ACE (Environmental Chemical Analysis) pole such as palynology, anthracology, archeology, geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, medicine or ecotoxicology for qualitative and quantitative determination of elements trace metals, anions or organic contaminants (PAHs, PCBs, fungicides ...) in various environmental matrices (rocks, soils, water, sediments or animal or plant biological tissues ...).
The ACE pole has instruments allowing samples preparation (extraction, mineralization, separation and purification) and their analysis by single and triple quadrupole gas chromatography, ion chromatography, inductively coupled plasma spectrometer (ICP AES and MS), mercury analyzer, colorimeter, UV-visible spectrophotometer, TOC-meter, CNS analyzer, IR laser spectrometer for the analysis of stable isotopes of water ... He has also developed expertise and know-how in the development of innovative materials for water treatment.
It is the grouping of all these instruments, but also the associated know-how which constitutes the unique character of this ACE pole.
