Magma-sediment-fluid interactions – Petrology – Geochemistry – Guaymas IODP 385

Presentation

My research (PhD starting in October 2022) focuses on the impact of magma-sediment interactions on the carbon and sulphur cycle in extending sedimentary basins. I am using a petrological and geochemical characterisation approach coupled with thermodynamic modelling to quantify the quantities of volatile elements released or trapped in the mineralogical phases.
