Physical characterization of the environment and paleoenvironment (CPEP)

The CPEP (Physical Characterization of the Environment and Paleoenvironment) pole groups together eight Technical Units, managed by six people.

This pole, directly associated with research projects in the fields of palaeo-environment, geology and archeology, implements and develops techniques for the preparation and analysis of samples from samples of soils, rocks , sediment and also wood samples.

For this, it has many specific equipment such as a rock cutter, a mechanical jaw crusher, semi-automatic polishing machines, 16 binocular loupes and 22 optical microscopes some with polarized light, a geophysical measuring bench, two chains of Lintab-TSAP dendrochronology measurements, a laser granulometer and multi-parameter physico-chemical probes.
