As a PhD student at Chrono-Environnement since October 2021, under the supervision of Daniel GILBERT and Elsa MARTIN, I’m working on the implementation of a national database on French peatlands. This will eventually enable us to target degraded sites for priority restoration. This mapping work will include information on peatland distribution, carbon stocks, ecological status and GHG emissions. Socio-economic elements such as land tenure, cadastral fragmentation and land prices will also be included in the database, as they influence the cost and feasibility of restoration operations.
