Forest Biology and Ecology – Entomology – Molecular Ecology – Biodiversity – Plant-Insect Interaction – Adaptive mechanisms – Insect pests – Scolytes

Presentation

Specialised in entomology and molecular ecology, I study adaptive mechanisms of insects to environmental changes and their ecological and phytosanitary consequences.

More specifically, my research involves :

  1. Characterising the genetic, physiological and behavioural status of populations of phytophagous insect pests (mainly bark beetles);
  2. Studying the adaptive and evolutionary processes of these insect populations to changing environments, as well as the effect of ecological and environmental factors and environmental factors on their ability to develop, disperse, colonisation of host trees or their genetic structure
  3. Assessing the ecological and/or economic risks and impacts of these pests, in order to propose appropriate forest management and protection solutions.

Currently my research work is mainly part of the Observatoire des forêts sentinel forests in Franche-Comté. My skills also enable me to collaborate with eco-physiologists, microbiologists and ecotoxicologists, thereby and ecotoxicologists, enabling me to take part in a number of research programmes, contributing my expertise on the adaptation mechanisms of natural populations (e.g. plants, to human activities and environmental changes, or on the identification of species the identification of species using molecular tools.
