Limnology, food webs, carbon cycle, stable isotopes, disturbances

My current research activities focus on understanding the trophic functioning of lakes and lentic systems and their role in the carbon cycle. With my colleagues, we are looking in particular to assess how land use or the presence of disturbances in the catchment area can impact the origin and transfer of carbon consumed by benthic or pelagic consumers by combining neo- and palaeolimnological approaches. Among other things, this work will enable us to assess the conditions favouring methane production in lake sediments and to study its transfer in food webs.
