Collection, sampling, storage (PES)
The PES pole “Collection, Sampling, Storage” includes all the technical and human resources available to the unit for field sampling, laboratory sampling, storage of field equipment and bio- and geo-materials collected. 6 ITA and BIATS agents are in charge of the 9 technical units that compose it.
Among the main equipment the unit has:
– for sampling in the field, specific equipment very complete for core sampling in marsh and lacustrine environments, trapping equipment and capture of insects and micromammals, soil monitoring sampling material in pedology …
– Sample processing devices (bench for opening sedimentary cores, micro-sieving, washing, drying rooms, fume cupboards, acid digestion, binocular loupes …) organized for the safety of operators …
– Dry storage and storage spaces, but also in positive cold (core archives and dynamic core library) and cold negative (animal tissues) …
