Thème DYNABIO
Dynamique de la biodiversité et trajectoires fonctionnelles des écosystèmes
La croissance exponentielle de la population humaine, ainsi que l’industrialisation et l’urbanisation qui y sont associées, ont profondément altéré le fonctionnement des écosystèmes et ont entraîné la sixième extinction de masse.
L’ambition de ce thème est d’aboutir à des outils et des concepts pour diagnostiquer l’état écologique des écosystèmes, et concilier la conservation de la biodiversité et des processus fonctionnels associés avec le développement socio-économique des populations humaines, en minimisant les conflits tout en maintenant les services écosystémiques. Ces recherches nourriront les actions menées en écologie de la restauration et de la conservation, pour la réalisation d’objectifs de développement durable.

Évolution et dynamique de la biodiversité
Cet axe regroupe les travaux consistant à caractériser la biodiversité locale et régionale à différentes échelles de temps et niveaux d’organisation.
Rôle fonctionnel de la biodiversité
L’analyse des relations entre rôle fonctionnel et structure des communautés pour une meilleure compréhension du rôle de la biodiversité dans le fonctionnement des écosystèmes.
Trajectoires spatio-temporelles des écosystèmes en réponse aux changements globaux
Identifier et quantifier l’influence des pressions anthropiques et des changements climatiques sur les trajectoires spatio-temporelles des écosystèmes.
Nos projets en cours
RETROPEST
Le projet ANR RETROPEST vise à mieux comprendre les interactions entre différents régimes de perturbations (feux et épidémies d'insectes), leur réponse au changement climatique et leurs impacts sur le devenir de la forêt boréale au Québec. L'originalité du projet réside dans : (1) l'approche multi-perturbations, (2) le développement d'un nouveau proxies pour les épidémies d'insectes via l'ADN, sédimentaire, et (3) la combinaison dans un même projet des données paléoécologiques et de modèles dynamiques
WiMEH
Les recherches du WiMEH lab se concentrent sur les conflits entre humains et faune sauvage, et sur les moyens de les éviter, de les réduire ou d'en atténuer les effets. La recherche est basée sur des études de terrain et mobilise des réseaux de parties prenantes telles que les gestionnaires de forêts et de réserves naturelles. Elle intègre des méthodes issues de l'écologie du paysage et de la génétique moléculaire dans un cadre One Health.
