Polluants : exposition, impact et gestion
Comment redonner vie à nos sols pollués ?
Ce thème s’organise autour d’une entité d’étude commune, marqueur de l’Anthropocène, la pollution. Si certaines de ces pollutions ont une origine naturelle, les activités anthropiques ont, notamment au cours des dernières décennies, amplifié leur concentration et leur diffusion dans l’environnement et constituent donc un forçage menaçant l’intégrité des systèmes biologiques et écologiques.
En raison de la capacité limitée de nos sociétés humaines à évaluer et gérer les risques environnementaux et sanitaires des contaminants, les questions relatives à l’évaluation de l’exposition des organismes vivants, à la quantification des impacts à différents niveaux d’organisation biologique et au développement d’outils de gestion du risque pour la restauration des systèmes écologiques sont plus que jamais d’actualité.

Altéragènes et multi-expositions
Détermination des altéragènes en présence. Caractérisation de l’intensité et la temporalité des pollutions et l’imprégnation des récepteurs biologiques.
Impacts sur les systèmes biologiques
Étude du lien entre exposition et santé environnementale. Mesures quantitatives des effets des polluants sur le vivant.
Ingénierie et gestion/remédiation
Développement et mise en œuvre de méthodologies éco-ingénierie pour le stockage et la dépollution d’effluents industriels.
Nos projets en cours
GAP-AFR (JPI-AMR)
Les médicaments antifongiques azolés utilisés pour traiter les infections à Aspergillus fumigatus (pathogène fongique défini comme prioritaire par l’OMS) sont de moins en moins efficaces du fait de l’utilisation de molécules similaires pour la protection des cultures et des matériaux. Le projet vise à cartographier à l’échelle mondiale le pourcentage d’Aspergillus fumigatus résistants aux azolés, dont la croissance peut persister malgré le traitement antifongique.
MUSLI
Face aux défis actuels liés à la pollution et au changement climatique, le projet MUSLI développe une approche pluridisciplinaire visant à mieux comprendre les mécanismes de dégradation des lacs. Original par le croisement de l’écologie, de la chimie et de l’histoire environnementale, ce projet de recherche étudie à la fois les impacts des anciennes munitions immergées et ceux de l’eutrophisation sur les écosystèmes lacustres. Grâce à des méthodes innovantes et à une vision intégrée des enjeux environnementaux, le projet contribuera à protéger durablement les milieux aquatiques.
NANOHYMPI
L’objectif de ce projet consiste à développer des nanofleurs d’oxyde de fer (maghémite) décorées par des nanoparticules d’or ultra-petites recouvertes de chélateurs (GIONF). Le potentiel de ces nanostructures magnétoplasmoniques pour le traitement de l’athérosclérose guidé par l’imagerie sera évalué par des expériences in vitro et in vivo.
SPACEMOD
À l’heure actuelle il n’existe plus en France, voire plus largement, de logiciel générique d’évaluation du risque sur les écosystèmes (ERE) pour les sites et sols pollués (SSP). Le projet SPACEMOD vise à développer un outil spatialement explicite de modélisation des transferts et des impacts des mélanges de contaminants chimiques dans les réseaux trophiques terrestres destiné à l’ERE et la réhabilitation des SSP (et plus généralement de tout type de site contaminé par des substances chimiques).
WiMEH
Les recherches du WiMEH lab se concentrent sur les conflits entre humains et faune sauvage, et sur les moyens de les éviter, de les réduire ou d’en atténuer les effets. La recherche est basée sur des études de terrain et mobilise des réseaux de parties prenantes telles que les gestionnaires de forêts et de réserves naturelles. Elle intègre des méthodes issues de l’écologie du paysage et de la génétique moléculaire dans un cadre One Health.

Le 2 juin 2026, Léa Bariod a reçu le 2ᵉ Prix du Jeune Chercheur du Jane Goodall Institute France en reconnaissance de ses travaux de recherche en écotoxicologie et en écologie de la santé portant sur les effets des contaminants environnementaux chez la faune sauvage.
