Polluants : exposition, impact et gestion

Ce thème s’organise autour d’une entité d’étude commune, marqueur de l’Anthropocène, la pollution. Si certaines de ces pollutions ont une origine naturelle, les activités anthropiques ont, notamment au cours des dernières décennies, amplifié leur concentration et leur diffusion dans l’environnement et constituent donc un forçage menaçant l’intégrité des systèmes biologiques et écologiques.

En raison de la capacité limitée de nos sociétés humaines à évaluer et gérer les risques environnementaux et sanitaires des contaminants, les questions relatives à l’évaluation de l’exposition des organismes vivants, à la quantification des impacts à différents niveaux d’organisation biologique et au développement d’outils de gestion du risque pour la restauration des systèmes écologiques sont plus que jamais d’actualité.

Altéragènes et multi-expositions

Détermination des altéragènes en présence. Caractérisation de l’intensité et la temporalité des pollutions et l’imprégnation des récepteurs biologiques.

Impacts sur les systèmes biologiques

Étude du lien entre exposition et santé environnementale. Mesures quantitatives des effets des polluants sur le vivant.

Ingénierie et gestion/remédiation

Développement et mise en œuvre de méthodologies éco-ingénierie pour le stockage et la dépollution d’effluents industriels.

Nos projets en cours

BIOSYSMO

Ce projet européen réunit un consortium de 15 européens. Il cherchera à concevoir et améliorer des biosystèmes synergiques en vue de l’élimination des contaminants mixtes dans les sols, les sédiments et les eaux (souterraines) pollués.

COMICS

Le projet COMICS vise donc à comprendre comment la co-exposition à des contaminants, pesticides et métaux, influencent l’état de santé et le microbiote digestif chez la faune sauvage en étudiant des petits mammifères en milieu naturel. Cette étude est basée sur une approche interdisciplinaire réunissant des partenaires spécialisés dans les domaines de l’écologie et l’écotoxicologie, la chimie analytique et la chimie environnementale, la biologie moléculaire, la génomique et la microbiologie.

ECOPOLIS

Le projet ECOPOLIS a pour objectif général la restauration d’une friche industrielle en milieu urbain. Il implique l’ensemble de la communauté et il est basé sur l’implantation d’un laboratoire vivant (living lab) à vocation de recherche et pédagogique.

EDAPHOS

Des méthodes avancées de cartographie, d’évaluation des risques et de dépollution basée sur la nature sont combinées pour accélérer la restauration des sols contaminés et s’assurer qu’elles débouchent sur des offres commerciales.

GAP-AFR (JPI-AMR)

Les médicaments antifongiques azolés utilisés pour traiter les infections à Aspergillus fumigatus (pathogène fongique défini comme prioritaire par l’OMS) sont de moins en moins efficaces du fait de l’utilisation de molécules similaires pour la protection des cultures et des matériaux. Le projet vise à cartographier à l'échelle mondiale le pourcentage d’Aspergillus fumigatus résistants aux azolés, dont la croissance peut persister malgré le traitement antifongique.

SIRAM

SIRAM fournira une intégration et une mise en œuvre complètes de solutions durables pour l’agriculture régénérative dans différentes régions méditerranéennes, en abordant en même temps les questions de faibles revenus au niveau des petites exploitations.

De récentes études sur les Pyrénées révèlent l’ampleur des changements environnementaux dans les écosystèmes montagnards. Le changement climatique s’avère plus intense que prévu, notamment pour les lacs, où les conditions de vie deviennent difficiles, et pour les glaciers. Les conséquences pourraient être dramatiques pour la biodiversité locale et pour le pastoralisme, mais aussi pour beaucoup de personnes, y compris en dehors des régions montagneuses, qui en dépendent pour leur approvisionnement en eau.
